You’re not here for the cookie-cutter ballroom with floral wallpaper and napkins folded like swans. You’re here because Arizona has been tugging at your heart—the golden light, the canyons that look hand-painted by the universe, the kind of landscapes that take your breath away.

I get it. Arizona just hits different.

Whether you’re dreaming of a desert elopement that feels straight out of a movie, or a full-on wedding weekend where your people can hike, stargaze, and celebrate under the open sky, you’re in the right place. I’ve filmed love stories all over the Southwest, and I’m here to help you find the best Arizona wedding venues that feel like you.

No fluff. Just the most breathtaking, logistically-sound, personality-filled places to get married in Arizona—plus some honest notes from a videographer who’s been behind the scenes of a lot of “best days ever.”

Why Arizona?

Arizona isn’t just sunshine and saguaros (though there’s plenty of that). It’s a canvas for whatever kind of celebration feels most like you two:

  • Red rock cathedrals in Sedona? Check.

  • Intimate forest hideaways in Flagstaff? Yep.

  • Epic sunsets in the Superstition Mountains? You already know.

  • Chic downtown Phoenix venues for a sleek city wedding? Absolutely.

It’s all here. The fun is in choosing a spot that vibes with your story—and knowing the tradeoffs (hello, 110º heat in July).

The Best Places to Get Married in Arizona

With real thoughts, not just brochure lingo.

Guest count: 0–100

Permit required? Yes

Best season: Spring or fall

Let’s just say: if you're into that whole “getting married in the shadow of ancient volcanic cliffs while the light turns gold around you” thing—Lost Dutchman is the spot. It’s wild and rugged in the best way, and feels like you’re in your own little world. Just be ready to bring everything in (and pack it all out). No one’s rolling out a white aisle runner here—but that’s kind of the point.

Bring a videographer who knows how to work with hard light and dust. (Hi, it’s me.)

Guest count: Up to 200

Best for: A seamless blend of desert drama + comfort

Okay, if you want the views of Lost Dutchman but with a built-in bar, bathrooms, and a rain plan—The Paseo is basically a dream. You get that full panoramic desert glow, and the venue is genuinely thoughtful with design and logistics. It’s the kind of place where your guests will go “wow” without needing hiking boots.

It also photographs beautifully. Every corner was clearly made with love (and weddings) in mind.

3. Sedona Secret Spots (aka: not-the-tourist-traps)

Best for: Elopements or micro weddings

Sedona’s popularity is both a blessing and a curse. Yes, the red rocks are jaw-dropping—but that also means crowds, especially at places like Cathedral Rock. That’s why I recommend secret trails (and yes, I’ve got a list) where you can say your vows with just the wind and the earth as witnesses.

Sedona’s permitting process can be a little… extra. But if you're flexible with time of day and don’t mind a light hike, it's totally worth it.

4. Flagstaff — Forest Weddings That Feel Like a Fairytale

Best season: Late spring through early fall

Guest count: Varies depending on location

If you're dreaming of pine trees, crisp mountain air, and maybe a few deer photobombing your ceremony, Flagstaff is such a gem. It’s wildly underrated compared to the red rock hype, but honestly—it gives cozy, storybook energy with epic skies.

Consider Airbnb weddings here too. Many properties back up to National Forest land and allow intimate events.

5. Downtown Phoenix Venues

These are for the couple that wants something edgy and modern with a little grit and a lot of heart. Exposed brick, creative architecture, moody lighting? Yes, please.

Phoenix is especially great if you have guests flying in and want a venue that’s easy to get to, with amazing local food and cocktails around the corner.

So…When’s the Best Time to Get Married in Arizona?

October through April is prime time—clear skies, dreamy temps, and golden hour that could make anyone weepy.

Avoid summer unless:

  • You’re having an indoor wedding

  • You love sweating (and want your mascara to double as eyeliner)

  • Your guest list includes no one over 65

What to Know About Booking a Videographer in AZ

If you’re looking for an Arizona wedding videographer who’s more than just a camera operator—someone who notices the way your partner smiles at you when you think no one’s watching, or who captures that one quiet moment with your grandma—then I’m your girl.

I’ve filmed weddings at all of these places and more, and I know how to make your day feel easy, even in the middle of the desert. I’m not about stiff poses or cheesy voiceovers. I’m here to tell your story in a way that feels like you.

A Few Final Venue Tips (From Someone Who's Seen It All)

  • Permits matter. Always check if you need one for a state park or public land ceremony.

  • Sunset timing is everything. Arizona sunsets are legendary—but they happen fast. Plan your ceremony to end about 45–60 minutes before actual sunset for the best light.

  • Backup plans save stress. Even in the desert, wind and storms happen. Have a plan (and people) in place.

  • Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. Especially in spring and fall—it feels mild, but it’s dry. Bring water for yourselves and your guests.

Arizona’s Wedding Magic Is Real

Whether you're getting married among towering red rocks, under a canopy of pine trees, or in an industrial-chic warehouse in the heart of Phoenix, there’s no shortage of incredible places to start your forever here. The key is choosing the spot that feels like home—for you, your love, and your people.
